What is The Journey: Jiu-Jitsu Retreat?

The Journey is an all-inclusive luxury retreat experience that blends world-class Jiu Jitsu instruction, relaxation, and wellness in beautiful destinations. Each program is hosted by Beyond the Mat Jiu-Jitsu LLC and designed to help guests train, recover, and connect on and off the mats.

What’s included in the retreat package?

All packages include luxury accommodations, three chef-crafted meals daily, daily seminars with Ffion Davies, open mat sessions, cold plunges, sauna access, and full use of the resort’s pools and fitness areas.

Who can attend?

The retreat welcomes practitioners of all levels from white belts to black belts, as long as they at least 18 years of age. Whether you’re new to jiu-jitsu or looking to refine your competitive edge, the program is designed to meet you where you are.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Many participants join solo and quickly connect with other attendees. The program’s structure and setting make it easy to build new friendships and train with like-minded people.

Can I bring a friend or partner?

Yes. You can book a shared room package with a friend, training partner, or significant other. Both guests receive full access to all training, meals, and amenities.

​

What’s the difference between the single and shared packages?

The Single Room package includes your own private accommodation for a more personal and restful experience. The Shared Room package offers the same inclusions at a reduced rate for two guests sharing one room.

Is transportation included?

Airport transfers are included for an additional fee. Once on property, everything is walkable from your room to the mats, dining hall, and beach.

What kind of food is served?

Meals are prepared fresh daily using local, organic ingredients. The menu is plant-forward with options for pescatarian and vegetarian guests, and can accommodate most dietary restrictions. Don't worry, Bacon, eggs and Acai have been added to the menu too! When you book, keep and eye out for out intake form to let us know about any dietary restrictions.

What should I bring?

Bring your gear (at least three gis and a no-gi set), standard training clothes, swimsuits, sandals, and casual wear. Everything else  including towels, toiletries, and filtered water for your bottle is provided.

Is there a refund or cancellation policy?

Yes. Please refer to the full refund and participant policies available on our website. Policies are designed to ensure fairness and support smooth operations for all guests.

How do I reserve my spot?

Click “Book Now” on our website, select your package type (Single or Shared Room), and complete your booking with a payment. Space is limited to maintain a high-quality, intimate experience.
